Half Moon Bay is a small sea-side community located 30 miles south of San Francisco.

Just to the west of Half Moon Bay is Pillar Point Harbor, site of the famous big wave surf area, Mavericks.

Other outdoor activities include whale- and elephant seal-watching, hiking on the beaches or among the redwoods, deep sea fishing, world-class golf or touring the nearby Santa Cruz Mountains or wineries.
