The town of Lake Placid is nestled among the Adirondack Mountains and named after a nearby lake.

Lake Placid has been a year-round resort destination for over 100 years with spectacular mountain scenery, heavy winter snows and a mild summer climate.

The town hosted the 1932 and 1980 Olympic Games.
